Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare

About the Course

The Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare is aimed at individuals working, volunteering, or undertaking a placement within children and young people's residential care services. It provides the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional care and support to children and young people living in residential settings, often with complex needs.


What You Will Learn:The course covers essential areas of practice for residential childcare professionals, including:


  • Development and behaviour of children and young people

  • Safeguarding and child protection, including supporting those who have experienced harm or abuse

  • Building positive relationships and maintaining safe, nurturing environments

  • Promoting health, well-being, and resilience


Assessment:Learners will complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate their competence and understanding across the required units.


Progression Opportunities:Upon successful completion, learners may choose to advance to higher-level qualifications such as the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or continue their studies with a foundation degree in a related field.
