About the Course
The Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid is a 1-day, practical course designed for anyone responsible for the care of infants and young children. Whether you're a childminder, nursery or pre-school staff member, toddler group volunteer, foster carer, or parent, this course equips you with the skills needed to respond effectively to paediatric emergencies.
You’ll learn to:
Understand the responsibilities of a paediatric first aider
Assess emergency situations quickly and safely
Perform CPR and use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
Provide first aid to choking infants and children
Place a casualty in the recovery position
Respond to shock, bleeding, bites, stings, and minor injuries
This qualification meets HSE and HSENI guidelines and is valid for 3 years. It is regulated by Ofqual and Qualifications Wales, ensuring the highest standard of first aid training.
Delivered by a Care2Succeed-approved centre, this course is ideal for individuals and teams working in early years settings or domestic care environments. Upon completion, learners receive a recognised certificate and the confidence to act in emergency scenarios involving children.
