About the Course
The Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People is an essential qualification for anyone working—or intending to work—with children and young people. Whether you're in a paid, voluntary, or community-based role, this course provides the knowledge and confidence to identify, report, and respond appropriately to safeguarding issues.
You'll gain a solid understanding of:
How to safeguard and protect children, young people, and practitioners in the workplace
What signs to look for when abuse or neglect is suspected
How to respond effectively and in line with legal and organisational requirements
Key safeguarding principles and procedures relevant to a range of care and educational settings
This qualification is particularly suitable for:
Early years practitioners
Youth workers and volunteers
Residential care staff
Anyone supporting vulnerable young people
The course is assessed through a learner workbook and is regulated by Ofqual, CCEA, and Qualifications Wales. Successful learners may choose to progress to further training such as the Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce or the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.
As a Care2Succeed-approved centre, we are committed to delivering high-quality, regulated training that supports both professional development and safer practice across the care and education sectors.
