Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People

About the Course

The Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People is an essential qualification for anyone working—or intending to work—with children and young people. Whether you're in a paid, voluntary, or community-based role, this course provides the knowledge and confidence to identify, report, and respond appropriately to safeguarding issues.

You'll gain a solid understanding of:

  • How to safeguard and protect children, young people, and practitioners in the workplace

  • What signs to look for when abuse or neglect is suspected

  • How to respond effectively and in line with legal and organisational requirements

  • Key safeguarding principles and procedures relevant to a range of care and educational settings

This qualification is particularly suitable for:

  • Early years practitioners

  • Youth workers and volunteers

  • Residential care staff

  • Anyone supporting vulnerable young people

The course is assessed through a learner workbook and is regulated by Ofqual, CCEA, and Qualifications Wales. Successful learners may choose to progress to further training such as the Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce or the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.

As a Care2Succeed-approved centre, we are committed to delivering high-quality, regulated training that supports both professional development and safer practice across the care and education sectors.
