About the Course

The Level 1 Award in an Introduction to Mental Health and Wellbeing is a knowledge-based qualification that provides a gentle but vital introduction to mental health awareness. Designed for anyone preparing for employment or already in work, this course encourages personal development while building a foundational understanding of mental health challenges and wellbeing strategies.


Learners will explore:


  • What mental health and mental ill-health mean

  • How to take care of their own mental wellbeing

  • How to offer moral support to others experiencing difficulties

  • How lifestyle choices impact mental health

  • Where to find reliable sources of help and support

  • How to navigate difficult situations with empathy and resilience


This course is assessed through a multiple-choice examination and is regulated by Ofqual, CCEA, and Qualifications Wales.
