Level 2 Award in Introduction to First Aid for Mental Health

About the Course

The Level 2 Award in Introduction to First Aid for Mental Health equips individuals with the knowledge and confidence to support others experiencing mental ill-health—both in and beyond the workplace. Whether you're a team leader, colleague, or simply want to make a difference, this course empowers you to take on the role of a mental health first aider within your organisation.

Through this course, learners will gain the skills to:

  • Recognise common signs of mental ill-health in themselves and others

  • Understand the core principles of mental health first aid

  • Promote a positive mental health culture in the workplace

  • Support early intervention and signpost to professional help

  • Strengthen their own resilience and self-care

Mental health first aiders act as a trusted point of contact, offering reassurance and guidance to those in distress. This course is ideal for those working in education, healthcare, customer service, office environments, and community services.

Assessment is completed via a multiple-choice examination, and the course is regulated by Ofqual, CCEA, and Qualifications Wales.

Delivered by a Care2Succeed-approved centre, this nationally recognised qualification is a stepping stone to further study, including the Level 3 Award in Healthcare Support and other wellbeing-focused courses.
